iPhone 13 Camera is blurry

I missed my 14 day return window so i stuck with a iphone that creates a poor version of the photoshop CS2 oil paint texture on all the photographs. And a useless telephoto lens. All images are too soft ti use. I guess this is great for all the point and shoot camera manufacturers as i am back to my dslr. Every other aspect of the iphone 13pro is top notch. But the cameras and processing software are a horror show.

Why is your telephoto "useless?"

The telephoto lens on the 13 Pro Max is excellent.

If "all" your photos are "too soft to use" you're doing something very strange with your technique; most of the time, especially in good light, photos are excellent.

The more I use mine the more I’ve decided the 1x lens is the primary culprit in addition to the software. The 3x if I am in full daylight has actually done pretty well. For example with a car as a subject. The 1x seems to have trouble focusing for documents on a counter, have to pull back some compared to my 6S and even then the text on the docs seems noticeably out of focus compared to my old 6S. I haven’t used the ultra wide much. I went ahead and bought Apple Care to buy me some time to see if Apple does anything about this. I’d like to take my phone to the store but I don’t have a lot of confidence that the staff are going to be able to discern what I see in the photos being soft.

This oversharpening effect on iphone 13 models are DISGUSTING! I can no longer post videos on my social media of my pets etc. The quality is horrendous. My Iphone X has great video quality while the 13 is horrid.

Please address this issue Apple! We want the HDR effect turned off asap!

My IPhone 8plus takes way better pictures. Online reviews made it seem the camera was better but it literally is terrible compared to my iPhone 8plus. ESPECIALLY the front camera. Front camera should’ve been taken off. It looks like it has a Instagram smoothing skin filter. My 8plus is clear and you can see all the pores on my face, the 13pro max just looks like I’m another Instagram person with the said filter. I’d be so embarrassed to release this phone and over advertise something that actually isn’t what it is.

Wow, I was thinking of buying a 13 Pro Max today, but I won't after reading this! Always a good idea to do a bit of research to uncover any issues/bugs with a product you're thinking of buying... glad I did! Shame, because the rear cameras seem to have great results. But selfies are really important these days.

I did my research but saw better reviews for the camera. This is the only forum I’ve found about the camera being crap and 9/10 was good reviews. When Samsung comes out with their new phone I’ll be grabbing that. I looked like a cartoon character heavily filtered with the front camera it’s terrible. Also when I open my camera I have to turn off night mode EACH SINGLE TIME and apparently there is no permanent off button for it so it’s a freaking pain. If I need to be quick and take a picture of my dog or kids I won’t be able to get the picture because it’s like a 2-3 second countdown with night mode on OR I have to turn it off which isn’t with a click of the button.

problem is in too aggressive noise reduction on iPhone cam app + they want to add brightness and contrast to their taste, while other applications do not have this effect its like xiaomi beauty option from 2017. Now i am very close to selling 13 and buy xr again which i had before, of course the night photos are a bit worse but they are honest

I'm looking on my desktop monitor. Both pairs of the top images look very similar. In the night scene pair, the one on the right isn't as dark and better exposed but on my monitor it's not a big enough difference that I would make any decision which app is better. The pair in the bottom, the image on the left is noticeably brighter.

the branches of the tree on the right have a halo, the green leaves are smooth and lost texture + the halo around the objects, the red pointer changes color and the bushes are smoother and less clear.

I am seeing all of the same complaints and I am also sooooo upset. I was told the pro had AMAZING photos and it’s been trash . Has anyone figured out the fix or do we take the phone to the store ? I need a fix because I can’t deal with this 😭

You mean "shutter-manual camera" I assume, there are tons of apps named shutter in app store.

Does it work for video filming? I would not know as the app won't work on my iphone 13, crashes and won't even open the cam.

I mean iPhone native cam app for single shots iPhone 13, 13 mini, 13 pro in low light blurry, overharped and oversaturated other apps from AppStore - ok you can try any lightroom, moment, bestcam etc and compare. video in native app ok

Meaning the regular Apple “Camera” app.

Third-party apps are free to do their own processing or none at all.

The Apple Camera app provides the best results for most people under most circumstances, but if you want no processing to be performed so you can do it yourself, that ability is present with third-party apps.
