iPhone 13 ProMax disconnects from CarPlay when I play any audio, e.g. Spotify

My new iPhone 13 ProMax disconnects from CarPlay when I play any audio, e.g. Spotify, but still works for phone calls. I have already:

  1. disconnected and erased the vehicle’s CarPlay and reconnected it multiple times
  2. tried a new cable
  3. check with the old phone (iphone 11) no issue

I can receive phone calls and other apps like Waze work no issue. Is this a known issue that Apple is working to fix yet?


When this error happens, it completely disconnects the phone like if I was to unplug the phone.

Turn off EQ

Settings —> Music —> EQ —> off


if that doesn’t work. General —> Reset —> Reset all settings.
