Inflight streaming not working on American Airlines.

I had issues on my all recent AA flights. I was watching helplessly others enjoying movies and I was forced to watch commercials and no play when movies were clicked

That makes sense. Total pain though.

Same here. Live TV plays. Preview/Commercials play… and then the streaming movie doesn’t. (iPhone 13 Pro)

I flew yesterday on 2 American Airline flights yesterday 10-14-21, same issue, the trailers would run & the same Marriott commercial would run, but when it got to the movie, it would not play. I also loaded Google Chrome thinking it was the browser and it was worse and would not work at all. I am using the newest IOS 15.0.2 on both my iPhone & iPad and both would not work. Luckily I had my PC Laptop and it worked.

I have had 6 flights with the same issue, the commercials and trailers do play on my IPhone 12, IOS 15.01 but movies won’t play, TV does work. I don’t know why American Airlines or Apple do not post an official message or do something to resolve this issue I suspect is affecting thousands of travelers around the world, please a little respect to your customers!! This has been happening for several months

Add me to the list of iOS users unable to stream with everything up to date. I would have gladly paid 100 more over two days of traveling to see some movies. Especially since I work 6 days a week in the middle of a desert.

And to all those saying it’s the app, you are redirected to a website via the app… it’s a web based interface.

You should not be redirected to a website. If you are the app is broken.

In an effort to help Apple/AA troubleshoot, I experienced the following this week with my iPhone 13 with iOS 15.0.2. Movie streaming working on Airbus airplanes without in-seat device holders. Movie streaming NOT working on Boeing airplanes with in-seat device holders. My bet is there is something with the security settings on the newer planes’ WiFi that is incompatible with iOS 15.

I was back and forth with American today, as i had the same issue 10/14 and again today—ads and previews work but the feature films do not. They said it is a bug with ios 15.0.1. and that it wilL be fixed with 15.1… doesnt help today though…

That is not true, I just got off my flight 5 minutes ago and I was able to stream live tv, but as others said movies would allow ads to play but the movie or tv on demand would not play
