tay292,
We'll do all we can to help. If apps are running in the background even when not in use, it can use battery life. We recommend checking out your app usage to see which apps are using the most of your battery and if they are running in the background under Settings > Battery.
As for your iPhone getting warm, we have great information here: Keeping iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch within acceptable operating temperatures
"When you use the device or charge the battery, the device might get warm. You might notice that your device feels warmer in these situations:
- When you set up your device the first time
- When you restore from a backup
- When apps reindex or reanalyze data, like Photos tagging for faces, places, or keywords after a software update
- When you use graphics-intensive or augmented-reality apps or features
These conditions are normal, and your device will return to a regular temperature when complete."
If you see a temperature warning, check out the section titled "If you see a temperature warning screen" for more information.
Cheers!
