iPhone 13 Pro Max not connecting with JVC deck

Hey guys, I just got an iPhone 13 pro max, yesterday I hopped in my car and plugged in the usb to the new phone (worked perfectly with my iPhone X previously) it says it connects, even shows the song “playing” but it won’t put through any audio. Same cord I used with my old phone. Glitch in the new system or is my phone not going to connect with my deck anymore?

Being able to enjoy your new iPhone is what we want to help with, so let's start with ruling out a few basics:

You mentioned it connects using a USB cable, but have you already tested another cable?
Has a restart been tried? If not, this link shows how to Restart your iPhone.
Have you already reached out to JVC to ask if there are any new firmware updates for your car stereo?
We understand that your older iPhone worked without any issues, but gave you been able to test connecting your iPhone to another device using a USB cable? If you did test this, what occurred?

Thank you for the reply! I’ve tried other cables and no luck.

I restarted my phone right after it wouldn’t work at first. But it did update since then. I can try again.

I haven’t reached out to JVC yet. It’s a fairly old deck and that could be the issue.. But I will ask them!

I haven’t tried to connect my new phone to a usb other than to charge it. Charging works but I’ll try with my laptop right now.
