Using webcam with M1 Mac Mini

I recently tried using a Logitech C920s webcam with an M1 Mac Mini. The camera was recognized but had poor audio with static and noise. The same camera plugged into an Intel MacBook Pro worked perfectly. Adjusting input mic input levels did not seem to help... Is there a difference between the Intel and M1 webcam drivers? I'm curious... are the drivers native to the M1 processor or do they rely on Rosetta? Any sage advice would be welcome.

The issue seems to be solved by launching the Audio MIDI Setup and adjusting the audio input clock frequency from 16kHz to 24kHz.

I wonder if the issue was related to the echo cancellation algorithm and artifacts due to clock drifting? (The audio issues did seem to get worse the longer the webcam was running...). Regardless, it seems to be working for now. Ideally, tinkering with the audio input clock should not be necessary.
