Music won't play on multiple HomePods iOS 15.0

I have 10 HomePods throughout the house and previously zero issues with playing media on multiple HomePods simultaneously. Since they were all updated to version 15.0, music can only be played on 1 HomePod at a time.

Selecting another HomePod simply results in spinning animation and ultimately doesn't connect. Pairing 2 together for stereo still only results in 1 of them playing.

I know next update will likely fix this so may not be worth troubleshooting. Sharing analytics that hopefully helps Apple fix.

Starting the ticket is pretty easy.

Sign in with your Apple ID
Open a new case. I chose AirPlay as my category, Incorrect/Unexpected Behavior as the problem type.
Describe the issue with as much detail as you can. Specific products, OS versions, and the scenario that triggered the error.
Creating a sysdiagnose takes a little work. You can refer to this page to find your scenario and install the correct profile: https://developer.apple.com/bug-reporting/profiles-and-logs/. I used these instructions for getting sysdiagnose logs on a HomePod from an iOS device. The AirDrop part was finnicky, I had to wait a bit and tried a few times before it correctly prompted me. https://download.developer.apple.com/iOS/tvOS_Logs/HomePod_Logging_Instructions.pdf
Upload those files to the open issue. They are 100-300mb.

This worked for me! I just bought new HomePod Minis to add to my original HomePod setup. At first I was wondering if the HomePod Minis couldn’t play music at the same time as the original HomePod, but restarting the original HomePod did the trick and now everything can play together.

Just bought a new Eero Pro setup and have the same issues. Restarting a HomePod temporarily resolves the issue, then within a day it typically starts failing again. This is really frustrating, at this point I seem to have almost two thousand dollars of useless speakers.

Have now updated to 15.1 and so far so good.

first try I have successfully been able to play to HomePod and HomePod mini together without an issue.

Was about to do this, but have updated to 15.1 this morning and all seems well again.

no mention of fixes for this at all in the release notes.

Ditto, same issue and I tried using different wireless modems, networks, etc.

It definitely seems to be a bug within the home app and/or the homepod software itself.

Literally having the same issues, I'm thinking to get a new router to try to solve it but I will be very disappointed if a new router does't help.
