iPhone storage is showing that WhatsApp is taking 160Gb space but I have deleted everything

I don't know, it felt like the space 'freed' by deleting media in WhatsApp was not released to 'general use' for other apps on the iPhone, but kept allocated to WhatsApp

Same issue here, what’sapp storage 3,7gb and iPhone storage 12,3gb. My iPhone has 64gb, I need urgently free up space.

Any way to solve this problem?

Has anyone found a solution? I’ve been deleted loads off WhatsApp but it’s still telling me 16gb are taken up by the app on my phone. I desperately need that space!

I want to keep my chats as it has ones with my late Nan on there. Surely apple can come up with a solution?

What if the app is already up to date ? This is not a solution

All information was kept - it was a regular app update from the App Store. When I say “forced update” i just mean it was triggered manually on the App Store, as I have the automatic updates disabled.

Sure, I’m a regular user just like you proposing a workaround (literaly). It may not work in your case.

You can ask for a solution to Apple or to the developers. Feel free to open a case to Apple.

having An apple from my employer and forcing me to use it for 3 years reminds me every day why I never bought an apple (and probably will not also in the future)
