Mouse lag Big Sur continued

This is continuing the earlier thread. On my 2020 Mini the mouse lag problem only began after update to 11.6 or possibly the update before that. I tried following the suggestion to select "Reset the Bluetooth module". That locked up the mouse cursor even though it's a USB mouse (Apple Pro Mouse). Perhaps that is a clue for Apple. I don't see any option to change its polling rate. Apparently that is what is needed.
