Hi, after upgrading to IOS 15, voice address input into navigation apps no longer works, application does not hear me. Tried google maps, yandex navigation using two different iphones 12 and two different cars with carplay support.
to reproduce open google maps or other nac app and click mic icon for address input.

I also had this problem. Since my native Apple apps worked with the carplay microphone I guessed it was Google Maps specific so I posted here as well
Anyway, after verifying that Google Maps had access to the microphone because it was working fine up until recently I thought maybe reinstalling would work and it did, but it took a couple of tries. Here's what didn't work and what did work for me
1. Didn't work
Uninstalled Google Maps.
Turned iPhone off
Turned iPhone on
Installed Google Maps
Launched Google Maps
Glimmer of hope. It asks for permission to access location , microphone, and contacts.
I'm able to give access to microphone and contacts but not location. If go
to Settings -> Privacy -> Location Services Google Maps isn't
listed (Google Calendar is, but not Gmaps).
Turn iPhone off
Turn iPhone on
Google Maps appears in Settings -> Privacy -> Location Services and I grant it access
Test with microphone using CarPlay is unsuccessful
2. Did work.
Uninstalled Google Maps.
Turned iPhone off
Turned iPhone on
Installed Google Maps
Turned iPhone off
Connected USB cable in car for CarPlay
Turned iPhone on
Launched Google Maps
Am able to grant access to location services, microphone, and contacts
Tests using microphone in car seems to work. Will continue to test and validate.
The issue went away for me with iOS 15.1.1 and I was nervous that it would come back with 15.2. So far it has not. I have been purposely using voice to use Google Maps to set directions almost every time since this issue. It is very interesting how it works for some and does not work for others . Not sure to blame Apple or Google on this one.
Ok just tried in BWW and at first try it was no different on 15.2.1 I had to instigate the voice search twice before it then worked. Parked up and went shopping came back to car 10 mins later, tried it again and it worked first time. Once you get working again it seems to work every time. Will try again next time I go out and see if it works first time.

just upgraded to iOS 15.2.1
and it seems so only accept very short speech input. Like cities and roads. But when I want to specify road/number/area code etc it shuts down.
but it seems to have the need to learn my voice/speak again it gets better and better every time I make a new input.
While none from apple mentioned that, they have resolved it it 15.0.1/2 update. Just update and its fixed.
I am already running 15.2.
15.1 update fixed it for me 🤷♂️
Upgraded to 15.2.1 this morning which said it fixed some CarPlay input problems. But it is still broken for me.
