iPhone 13 Pro battery draining overnight

I have moved from Android to iOS, I did't use the app to migrate data from Android.

I have upgraded to latest IOS version as well, still this issue is happening.

And mine is 4G supporting sim, so no 5G available. No option to turn off as well on IOS 15.5

I bought my iphone 13 pro 7 months ago.

From the date of purchase since few days back my iphone’s battery was working perfectly. But suddenly it has started draining too earlier. I have to recharge my phone’s battery twice in 24 hours. I am feeling might be after upgradation to OS 15.5, my battery is behaving like this.

Please advise in this regard.

The issue is clearly connected to the cellular networking. If I turn airplane mode on before bed, the battery level is reduced by a mere 3-4% during the night; otherwise, it can be as high as 35%. What's not clear if it is only affecting iPhones with eSIM installed. Also, there is a high probability the battery drain depends on how weak your cellular signal is. Usually it's 2-3 bars for me, LTE. One bar would be devastating to the battery.

It is definitely cellular modem firmware or iOS software issue. Apple must take action in fixing it.

I am experiencing exactly the same overnight battery drain issue with no apps running on my 13Pro

i am convinced this problem is related to the modem update post modem version 1.60

up until iOS 15.4 there was Zero overnight battery drain.

Apple , please fix this issue.

i done a iCloud signout and sign in , woke up to a battery charge of 100%. This after 8hrs. Let see if this " fix" holds over the coming days.

this issue seems to be 13 series related. I recall doing the same process sometime back which fixed the problem only to have it re occur after iOS updates

i recently got an iphone 13 pro. not sure if it had to do with the last update, which was even more recent, but i noticed i was losing around 15 to 18% charge overnight even though i put it in airplane mode when i go to sleep. i even tried turning off all background refresh before going to bed and no difference. i did a reset all settings and so far it's been good.

15.4 was the last OS that had minimal battery drain , 15.6.1 has been fairly stable , but for some weird reason some nights I experience battery drain , other nights no overnight battery drain.

i have also noticed that since iOS 15.6 , the system data size is bloating at a very unusual rate

Update 3:

I read somewhere that if the phone is powered off and still drains around 20% the next morning then it may be a hardware issue such as a short circuit or loose wire in the phone. In my case, it does drain when powered off. I took it to the Apple Store and explained the situation the third time. They ran their diagnostics and kept saying it’s fine and everything is looking good. I was adamant about it because something is definitely wrong. They did a repair and FOUND that the camera wiring to the circuit wasnt connecting. It was indeed a hardware issue after all. They replaced pretty much everything but the screen. And voila, battery issue was solved. No more draining at all.

Guys, if your phone still drains when powered off even after a factory restore (without restoring back up or logging into icloud), I really believe it’s a hardware issue of some sort. Hope for the best for y’all. Good luck.

You need to put that on 5G auto or 4G. Huge battery consumption is because the mobile phone is trying to search for 5G all the time. I think this will help a lot.

Just want to stress again, there is something very wrong here! This is after turning off 5G and background app refresh.

I had similar problems and fixed it by disabling “Allow Siri when Locked”.

Before changing this setting Battery would drain over 40% during the night.
