Trackpad issues

Hi everyone, I recently noticed that my trackpad is slow and misbehaving (clicking on its own). I have set my trackpad appropriately, cleaned my trackpad and even updated my Catalyna, I also checked that my battery is not swollen, but I still frequently observe this trackpad issues which makes working with my MacBook very slow and frustrating. Please kindly give me further directives or information on what to do. Thank you, am anticipating your quick response please.

If it was a swollen battery you would expect to see slight seam separation around the outside of the Mac.

You do not say what exact Mac this is...

There are at least 52 models of MBP released since January 2006.

Some older Macs were known to develop faulty trackpad cables.
