Apple TV won’t load on roku

Okay, after speaking with an Apple “genius” who heard me gripe, he actually did resolve the issue.

On your Roku,

1. Go to Settings
2. Go to Display type
3. Deselect “Auto Detect” if that’s what it is on
4. Try the other types of displays. Apple TV+ works for me with “4K 60 Hz TV” but you may have to use a lower display quality.

Hopefully this is helpful for someone although the developers should improve the app so Roku users don’t have to adjust settings. Hulu, HBO Max, Netflix, Amazon Prime, and DirecTV Stream all work without me having to adjust my Roku settings, so Apple’s should too!

What worked for me, delete appletv app, restart roku, reinstall appletv app

I just disconnected tv and modem. When I reconnected Apple TV works.

• Check for Roku OS software updates.
• Check for Apple TV app updates, if not set to do so automatically.
• Try resetting the Apple TV app.
• Try deleting and re-installing the Apple TV app.

I removed/deleted Apple TV. Restarted ROKU.

Reinstalled Apple TV.

This worked for one show and then back to “video won’t load/not available ” messages. 😼

I’m going to cancel my subscription if the only way I can watch is on my phone. 😤

A couple of days ago A+ stopped working on my Roku. It starts to load and then goes back to the Roku Home screen. I have done all the suggestions I have found including:

Restart Roku

1. My Roku software is up to date
2. The A+ app is up to date
3. I deleted and re-installed the A+ Roku app
4. Other Roku stations all work
5. My modem, WiFi and router have been re-started

It still is not working after going thru these steps. If this cannot be resolved I will cancel my A subscription.

For a few days, my Roku Ultra will not Apple TV+ movies. Unplugging the internet modem and then replugging, and restarting Roku allowed it to play for one night, but the next day, it stopped working. The message says video not available, there was a problem loading, check the network connection. Also, Prime Video and Hulu were not available on Roku, but Netflix was able to play.

Same problem. Message says: Video not available.

I can watch on my phone but not on my supported ROKU device.

I will cancel my subscription if this is not easily resolved.

Apple seems No be dropping the ball in many areas these days.

Here I sit. ALL Roku channels work except for Apple TV. Just got a new Roku Streaming Stick+ a few weeks ago. Apple TV worked fine for 2 weeks. Did all of the monkeying around suggested here. Apple TV launches but none of the shows load. All other channels work fine. Smart people at Apple: can you please call your cousins at Roku and see wattup? Please. Much appreciated.

Same problem. For a while it worked to start watching on my phone, with the Apple TV app open on the TV/Roku. After a minute or so, the show would then pick up on the big screen. Now that's not working. Can still cast from phone to TV, but this is RIDICULOUS. Will definitely cancel at the end of the month.

Sooo that doesn’t solve the problem. THIS IS AN APPLE ISSUE NOT MY ISSUE! Hulu, Netflix, Amazon Prime, AND HBO Max all work just fine on my Roku without having to restart it or deal with any BS. APPLE FIX THE PROBLEM!!!!!!!!!!!!

Some weeks ago Apple TV+ stopped working on my Roku Express. I tried all different settings suggested here. Nothing worked. I gave up and changed all settings back to what they were.

About a week later a tried again, you never know, and it worked again! I've now been using Apple TV+ on my Roku Express for about 2 weeks with no issues.

I'm glad it's working again but it's not supposed to be this unstable.

I am having a similar problem. I watch A+ using Roku. I can watch the first episode of a series. When I try to watch subsequent episodes I get an error message saying the video can't load. I can watch movies.

I've tried all the suggestions but 8t won't play subsequent episodes. I am ready to cancel. Very frustrating!

I’ve done all of these things. I’ve opened case after case with you. This is a problem affecting Roku that apple cannot (or will not) fix. I’ve been trying to work with apple on a solution while paying for a subscription service that’s utterly useless. Apple, once again, shows that they don’t give a rip once they get your money.
