Your iPad Air4 has a USB-C port, whereas all models of iPhone use Lightning connector.

You can use your existing Power Adapter(s) with both iPad and iPhone with the the correct cable. There are no “certified” USB-C plug adapters - and their use may cause irreparable damage to your expensive iPad or iPhone. Certified USB-C cables incorporate a protective microchip that regulates charging and ensures that devices are compatible; plug-adapters do not incorporate this essential safety measure.

Your iPad Air4 was supplied with a 20W USB-C Power Adapter and a USB-C to USB-C charging cable. To charge your iPhone with the USB-C Power Adapter, you simply require a USB-C to Lightning cable:

Unless your iPhone was purchased recently (without a Power Adapter), your iPhone will have been supplied with a USB Type-A Power Adapter - along with a USB Type-A to Lightning cable. This cable is unsuitable for charging your iPad Air4, but may be used with older models of iPad that feature a Lightning connector.

Be aware that to reliably charge your iPad, the Power Adapter must be rated at 12W or greater. Many iPhone Power Adapters are only rated at 5W, which is inadequate for iPad.

If your iPhone Power Adapter is sufficiently powerful - and you wish the use the USB Type-A Power Adapter it to charge your iPad Air4, you will require a USB Type-A to USB-C charging/data cable. Here is an example:

iphone, ipad uses the lightning port on all devices for years now but more recently in terms of the end of the cord that plugs into the charger in the outlet…older apple products use usb-a or usb-b but now the newer products use usb-c thats just due to the technology advancement that changes over time.

and when it comes to MacBooks they do not use lightning port they use thunderbolt

new ipads and new iphones use the same cord and charger, the only difference now is with older apple products when you compare them to newer ones.

but who’s to say it all won’t just change again in a few years, technology is always changing like that

check the apple store for all kinds of adapters they have there.

because apple changes the technology as time goes by and newer products are released

just get an additional appropriate cord, a cord would probably be cheaper than an adapter anyway.
