Airplay crashing iPhone 13 Pro

I'm trying to Airplay videos from my iPhone 13 Pro (iOS 15.0.1) to my Apple TV 4K (tvOS 15.0) and it is crashing every time. Pictures work great and screen mirroring also, but as soon as i try to play a video it crashes and returns me to normal TV screen. This is for both new videos recorded on the iPhone 13 as well as older videos recorded on iPhone 11.

I've followed Airplay troubleshooting guide - https://discussions.apple.com/thread/253192402 - but the problem persists.

I've only seen a couple of other reports of this:

Same issue occurs when i try to Airplay to my Sony Bravia. I am also able to successfully Airplay from older devices (iPhone 10/11) which are running iOS 15.0.1, so i think it's a iPhone 13 problem, not an Apple TV one or an iOS 15 one

Is there any other steps to try or is this a problem that needs a software fix?

I’m not sure which fixed it but i did two things overnight 1. Disabled “Optimise iPhone Storage” so that all the iPhone is storing original photos and videos and 2. Upgraded to 15.0.2

I’m thinking it was the latter, but if the problem persists after an upgrade try disabling optimise iphone storage and let it download all photos/videos from iCloud (i left mine do that overnight).

So good to be able to easily Airplay my family videos again!

To confirm, you have followed all of the steps in If screen mirroring or streaming isn't working on your AirPlay-compatible device? Was anything updated or changed when this started occurring? Also, to help us isolate this issue, are you able to do this on a different internet connection? That would help us isolate the problem.

I have this exact problem. All I did was upgrade from an 11 pro max to a 13 pro max. Now Airplay simply stutters along horribly. Now with the latest update, not only does it stutter but it will eventually crash completely.

I’ve been working with advanced apple support for almost a month and nothing has fixed it as of yet.

Hi - thanks for the reply. Yes that's right, i've tried the troubleshooting guide and the problem persists.

I had opportunity today to try to Airplay to a totally new Apple TV and network/internet connection and the same thing happens - as soon as i try to Airplay (or screen mirror) a video on my iPhone 13 Pro it crashes out of Airplay and returns to the TV screen.

The only thing to have changed is that i upgraded my iPhone 11 Pro to an iPhone 13 Pro :(

I am sort of hoping this is not an isolated incident and others are having same issue so Apple will fix it. Being unable to Airplay videos of my children to the TV is a pain.
