Apple please provide an update as my phone is showing more available memory than the iPhones true 256gb size. It’s showing I got about 271gb available . Shows 0kb on apps installed when I know I have over 40gb installed on my phone .

Everyone's iPhone I have been able to check since iOS 15.0.1 is reporting under utilization of memory. Apple fixed a bug in iOS 15, which for many told users their phones were low in memory, even if they weren't. Somehow the fix they implemented too the issue the other direction.

I have provided feedback to Apple letting them know every phone I've checked including both of our iPhone 13 Pro models are reporting memory incorrectly.

Feel free to use this link to let Apple know --> Feedback - iPhone - Apple

Appreciate reply yeah I thought it was a bug issue . I guess I’ll wait on apples update to fix it . I’ve tried everything and still problems with correct memory reporting

thanks again

I don't anyone on iOS 15.0.1 whose phone isn't reporting more memory. Yes, it is Apple's to fix. But do use the link and let them know. The more people who report this, the faster they fix it.

Hi there georhans,

It looks like your iPhone is showing more available storage than expected. We’d be glad to assist.

To confirm, is your device fully updated to iOS 15.0.1?

Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Also, does restarting your iPhone resolve this issue, even temporarily?

Restart your iPhone

If not and you are fully updated, does the same thing show under Settings > General > iPhone Storage and when you connect your iPhone to a computer with Finder or iTunes?

How to check the storage on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Cheers!

This is, I guess, my first time noticing storage being so far off and not just on my phone, but on every phone I've looked at.

One buy in office has over 19GB of photos on his phone. His phone is reporting he has used far less than just the amount of data than just his photos. And his number doesn't seem to include apps, system, iOS or much other data.

When I updated to iOS 15.0.1, my iPhone Storage is showing about 20GB less used than before and my storage on my iPhone has been consistent for some time.

iOS storage reporting has always had issues. Don't understand why Apple has such a hard time correctly reporting storage or even releasing it when it's supposed to.

My Storage surprisingly is correctly reported in Settings->General->About (at least it matches the storage reported in Settings->General->iPhone Storage). However other things are not correctly reported.

iPhone Storage indicates Twitter is using up 4GB. but Twitter's own cache and media storage report almost nothing is being used up. So there's no real way for me to release that storage other than deleting the Twitter app.

It's always a pain to correctly manage iPhone storage.
