Launchkey and new iMac 24 M1 issue

Has apple removed the Novation launchkey driver from logic when the M1 processor is detected? Everything was working fine until I spent £2k+ on their new Mac… now my keyboard has been rendered useless, not too happy

Hi,

Not sure what you upgraded from but there have been some issues with legacy drivers from third parties like Novation and others and Big Sur / M1 . Apple is not responsible to supply any third party drivers, they need to come from the developer. If the driver ( and any related plugins, soft instruments etc.) are out of date you can have trouble and they may not load or function.

The good news is in most cases you just need to go to the developer and get current drivers and install. Just visit their support and take a moment and read up on their Big Sur / M1 support for any issues or tips. The same is true for any third party plugins, soft instruments, MIDI hubs and Audio Interfaces. Do a review of EVERYTHING Logic related and make sure that the products fully support Big Sur / M1 and get updated software. I recommend installing and testing one update at a time, cold reboot and test. This will help you isolate any issues as they happen.

Hope this helps.

Don
