Hello KFR3,

Is sounds like your Maps app isn't working as expected. We understand how important this is to you and we are here to help.

This article may be able to help: If Maps isn't working on your Apple device

Specifically the section titled "If you can't find your current location on your Mac."

If the issue persists, can you provide a few more details?

Cheers!

Suggest downloading the Application  Etrecheck  https://etrecheck.com  directly from a well Respected ASC Contributor.

The application is free or paid from added features.

Run the application with Full Disc Access ( Security & Privacy - Full Disc Access ).

It will take a Snap Shot -  both the hardware and software.

The Report will Not Reveal Any Personal Information.

Post back the Full Report - copy and paste - using the Additional Text Icon ( 3rd Icon to last )

We can have a look at the report for possible issues and may have possible suggestions to resolve the issues.

Any Third Party Applications that will interfere with the normal operation of the OS, alter, modify, remove or delete or attempt to do so is an invitation for disaster and may require a Reinstallation of the OS.

I use a satellite for my internet connection, and due to a problem with it sometime ago, they asked me to bypass my router and use the Ethernet option. After this was resolved, I forgot to delete this connection. Consequently I had two connections to the internet, one being Ethernet and the other, wireless. I deleted the Ethernet connection, and all works correctly!

I had found this page and did as suggested. All appeared OK. I logged out and entered as a guest. Maps seemed to work OK. I went back to my account and still nothing appeared. I did a safe mode restart. The Mac was very slow, but I though that Maps was working. I probably did explore enough because when I restarted, my home location was shown, but I could not view anything else. I got the connection issue message again. I will try the guest account again followed by the safe mode. I will report back on my findings.

Thanks for the help.
