Anyone know how to install a Canon wireless printer (mx492) or if there is an updated version for the setup? The latest macOS update is no longer compatible with this version of the app and gives an error message to contact the developer.
You don't need Canon software to drive this networked MX492 from your Mac. It is supported by Apple's built-in AirPrint.
From System Preferences > Printers & Scanners panel, right-click on the MX492 entry, and choose Reset printing system… This will temporarily remove it from that panel, and allow you to re-add the device by selecting AirPrint, instead of any Canon driver.

When you have already removed a printer from the Printers & Scanners panel, and with it powered on and wireless network is active, you then press the + button to add the printer back. It might take Bonjour a moment or two to discover and list the printer, and if it does, then select that entry, and under Use: select AirPrint. Then click Add.
If the first paragraph is a wash, then follow Apple's article Add a Printer on Mac, paying attention to the section named Add a Network printer by its IP address.
I suggest that you start by doing as the message suggested; contacting Cannon for assistance, since it is their product. Also, try downloading the printer's manual. That might be useful. It should tell you specifically what to do to set it up.
Any suggestion if I already removed the printer from my list in attempt to try re-adding it? Because of course now my Mac won't/can't locate it on my wireless network when searching for available printers.
Attemptng to make this my last resort as I'm hoping to avoid sitting on the phone for an extended period of time with customer service/support, especially because I was able to connect this printer in the past but once I moved and set up my new internet it now is presenting a problem.
Just off hand I am thinking that your access via the Air Print to the new network may there the issue is. I'd start by checking the network's access code is correctly entered for the computer.
