Why can I no longer see recent documents in Pages or Numbers in iPadOS 14 or 15?

While using either Numbers or Pages in iPadOS 14 on my 12.9 iPad Pro 2nd Gen, I recently noticed that recent documents are no longer visible within the navigation window. I store all of my documents on iCloud, but for good measure I offloaded some of my storage to test whether or not that might be effecting the display of recent files. I also upgraded to the latest iPadOS v14, but no change. Then upgraded to 15 and still not visible. Anyone have ideas on what might be happening with indexing recent file history? FYI, recent file history IS visible within the Folders app.

Hello tman001,

Thank you for clarifying. We're showing that the recent option is selected on the left, but it shows no recently opened documents. Have you opened a document to see if it appears after closing it? We just want to see if the issue occurs without actually closing the app? If that still does not work, then we'd like to investigate the issue further. Have a great day!

Hello tman001,

We apologize for the confusion, but when using the Numbers and Pages app, then Recents option should appear the same way as it does in the File app. Although it does not display a message or show in Menu, it should show when you are not inside of a document. Please let us know if we are misunderstanding what you are expecting it to show.

Take care
