Perhaps I am not explaining myself fully or understanding your replies as I should. Here are three cells in Excel showing percentages formatted as a line bar. I am attempting that in Numbers as I have recently discarded Excel.
I am very grateful for your replies.
Basically the same as what was mentioned before but with only one data point in each chart. The charts are placed over a cell that the number in it. This is a multi-step process in Numbers: making the charts, editing the charts, placing the charts close to where they need to be, changing the row heights and columns widths, repositioning/aligning the charts, readjusting the row heights, etc. It is a detailed process. Not hard but a lot of little steps.
Numbers does not have sparklines.
You can create a chart, remove all the unnecessary formatting (axis line, gridlines, legend, etc), resize it as small as it will go, and place it over a cell. You may have to make the row taller to fit the chart in the cell. It will not actually be a part of the table, though, so it will get misaligned if you move the table unless you select it at the same time. Also, if you add a row above the row that has the chart, it might make that new row a second series on your chart.
Hi oldpos,
Create the graph and Copy.
Click in a cell where you want the graph to appear and Paste.
The graph will be placed as an Image fill.
Resize that row and column to suit.
The image now belongs to the table and will move as you move the table or add rows above that row.
Be aware that the image fill is not interactive. If you modify the graph, the image will not change.
Regards,
Ian.
