“Find my” location

I have an iPhone and Apple Watch.

I am sharing my location with people.

my phone battery died the other day while I was out but they could still see my location.

If my phone battery dies, will my location automatically switch to show from my watch? Usually if your phone is off they can’t see your location.

See step 5 in the 'How to turn on Find My for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch' section of:

Set up Find My on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Mac - Apple Support

"If you want to be able to find your lost device on a map, make sure that Location Services is turned on. To do this, go to Settings > Privacy > Location Services, and turn on Location Services.

* The Find My network is an encrypted, anonymous network of hundreds of millions of Apple devices that can help you locate your device. "
