My iPhone 12 Pro battery capacity is showing 89% after 7 months of use. My previous iPhone 8 was at 96% after 2.5 years before I sold it.
Is there some sort of defect with my battery?
The battery percentage was actually above 95% two months ago.
It is a tad faster ageing than usual but Apple will only replace it if it drops to 79% inside the 12 month warranty. (24 months with AppleCare+)
At that rate it could well get there within 12 months.
As for the iPhone 8, 96% after 2.5 years is almost unheard of - you were very lucky.
