Apple activity and orange theory

This might be a silly question but I’m trying to wrap my head around this situation. I go to orange theory and when I’m there I start a cross training or indoor run on my watch. But when I’m done the workout i notice it shows my orange theory info that connects to my watch automatically. My question is, is my watch tracking everything twice when I do this? Should I not track my activity and let the orange theory app do it?

Hi there. I just noticed that today and yes- looks like it’s counting the orange theory workout AND the one you add. I forgot to start my workout on my watch but when I got home I hit all of my goals bc of the orange theory app.

TLDR/ Activity is tracking everything twice so don't start your Orange Theory workouts manually.

hope this helps!

Hello focker74,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities!

We understand that you're inquiring about tracking activity on your Apple Watch. We'd like to help.

Are you using a separate app for Orange Theory to track your activity? If you start a workout on your Apple Watch, that activity is then displayed in the Activity app and contributes to your daily activity. If you're using another app that tracks and syncs activity for the same activity, that would likely show separately and as a duplicate in this case.

If you're using a device or system for Orange Theory, we would suggest reaching out to that app developer to inquire about recommended settings and how that activity is synced or tracked in the Activity app.

Have a nice day.
