iOS 15 Home app and HomeKit have excessive battery drain

Tried, unfortunately no luck. Astonished by apple support

Sorry to hear that... Your battery drain seems really massive. Are you also in contact with Apple Support? We maybe need to make our voice heard about that.

Did somebody try to install iOS 15.5 RC? Any changes about that issue?

Just a little update about that issue: after a couple of weeks with iOS 15, still having battery consumed by Home app. Anyone else?

Yeah, I did at her request. She’s gotten so used to the smart home that she’d rather charge her phone 2-3 times a day rather than go without it.

Oh wow, so it went right back to draining the battery. That's disappointing. Same here, we are too invested in automation for her go without it, over a hundred devices.

I'm having kind of the same issue "home accessories" except I don't have the HomeKit app downloaded, Bluetooth is always off.

Have you restarted your iPhone since you first noticed this: Restart your iPhone

Also, let's try to closer the application and test: Close an app on your iPhone or iPod touch

If the issue persists, can you provide your exact iOS 15 version? Let us know if anything changes.

I have the same issue on my iPad Air 4. Sometimes I have backgournd activity from Home app and sometimes not....

I have a Hue bridge, an Aqara Hub and a Homekit Secure Video camera. I don't receive any notifications on my iPad so I don't know why I have this usage. Leave my iPad alone !

I loose between 5 and 10% per day without doing anything while my wife's iPad which is not admin but resident of the Home loose only 2 or 3% per day.

What causes this ?

Suggestion for Apple: it would be good to have a on option to turn off automatically the Wifi after no use of iPad and enables it when open the iPad....

Also can just add here that I have the same issue and this is so frustrating! Happening to me on an iPhone 12 Pro Max and an iPad Pro (2018). Existing since iOS15 and still existing with 15.2 Will this ever be fixed?!
