CarPlay notifications too loud

I have a solution to this problem and I wanted to share!

I have a 2018 GMC Terrain and every time I receive a text message or phone call, the notification comes in full blast regardless of my volume settings.

I currently have a iPhone 13 Pro and previously had an iPhone XS.

I found a video on YouTube that actually solved my problem! https://youtu.be/3UEzSDUg_zU

To adjust the notification volume for phone notifications you need to have Siri or Google Assistant enabled.

Hold down the button on your steering wheel that enables Siri or Google Assistant. Ask them to tell you about your day tomorrow or ask them to tell you a joke. Basically, get them talking for a minute.

While they are speaking, adjust the volume via the dashboard or steering wheel.

When I turned my volume down, I discovered that I was adjusting the “Voice Volume.”

(This might be GMC specific, other vehicles might read something else.)

I cannot adjust this volume in any other menu in my car or in my phone. I can only turn the Voice Volume up or down while the assistant is speaking.

I finally have my messages and phone calls coming in at a normal volume!
