home automation not working as it should

I set up an automation in Home. I want my garage door to open when I arrive home. However every time I arrive home I get a “time sensitive” alert asking if I want the automation to run. If I wanted to use my phone I could just open the garage myself. Why won’t my automation run automatically? Is there something else I need to do? I’m using a MyQ bridge and USA an Apple TV as a hub and on iOS 15. Everything works fine, just the automation doesn’t.

...Presumably it's for security reasons.

Thank you! I checked the iOS users guide but it didn’t mention that. Looks like I have to buy a home link for my car to accomplish what I want to do.
