Mac Mini M1 will not display 6k

So I just purchased a Samsung Q900 8k TV (Model: QN55Q900RBFXZA) for my Mac mini M1. The specs show the Mac mini can support up to 6k at 60hz through the Thunderbolt 3 port. I purchased a new USBC to HDMI cable that does up to 8k at 120hz. After plugging that cable in today I was able to get 4k at 60hz which is great but that is the max it gives me in the Display Options when holding the option key and clicking scaled. I can't get this display that does up to 8k to work with this cable that goes up to 8k to work in 6k. I really want the extra desktop space. I seen a vid for SwitchResX and installed that but when given the command line code to enter in terminal

ioreg -lw0 | grep IODisplayPrefsKey

it doesn't give me any data it just goes back to prompt. Why won't this just give me the display option in the Mac? How do I fix this and get the full 6k resolution

+1 padams35 is spot on.

The Mac Mini only supports 4K using an HDMI display.
