Music App (iTunes) skipping end of songs for downloaded music

Music app AKA itunes will skip the last parts of newly imported songs pretty regularly. The skip always happens at the SAME TIME for each song that has the issue. I can watch the time ticker skip from 2:45 to 3:15 and the next song plays after.

This is an issue that has been on the forums for a few years and a lot of people have this issue. When will apple fix it? it's clearly a bug with something about the importing process – removing and re-importing files seems to help, as does opening new songs one by one, but this is painstaking and annoying. Could be an issue with gapless playback determining the end of the song is nearer than it actually is. I can watch

No, these aren't ripped from CDs, but are perfect MP3s obtained from legitimate outside sources. The files mostly play normally on my iphone when transferred, without the ends skipped.
