Second monitor will not connect after Big Sur upgrade

I just upgraded to Big Sur 11.6 on my MacBook Air. Now, my second monitor will not connect via HDMI. How can this be resolved? I have already tried to reset NVRAM and to use Safe Mode. But, the Arrangement tab does not show under the Display option in System Preferences. I am using a j5create adapter and it worked great before the upgrade. I need HELP!

I finally resolved this issue myself. I started thinking that my current HDMI > USB cable might not be compatible with Big Sur. I took my MacBook Air to Electronic Express and asked to try some HDMI adapter. The 'Mini DisplayPort to HD Adapter Cable' worked when I used the Thunderbolt port. I opened two tickets with Apple support during the past week. I wish someone in support had thought of this!

This is very confusing and doesn't seem to help. I have a similar issue where my LG display and Dell display used to work most of the time. Now, after the Monterey upgrade when the computer goes in sleep mode the extended Dell display will not get a signal and stays black. Initially I did have issues with the LG display quitting on my 2020 MacBook air but it got fixed switching my computers from the laptop to the Mac mini that I was using for my home music. I have the Thunderbolt cable on the LG and an HDMI on the Dell. I switched the HDMI cable and the same blackout occurred after coming out of sleep mode.. After the Monterey upgrade it seems the Dell display, my extended one does not get a signal through the HDMI waking up from the sleep mode. I have to restart the computer, sometimes twice to get it to work. I have a Mac mini 2018 model.
