No option to format samsung t7 in APFS on M1 macbook

Bought new Samsung T7 SSD and tried formatting in APFS on my Macbook air with M1 chip. but there is no option for the same.

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 11.6

Open Disk Utility, and select "Show all devices":

Then select the drive (not any volumes underneath it).

Select "Erase" icon and when prompted:

Select as shown adding what ever name you want applied to the drive.
