Locked Screen sound problems

We understand you're not getting sound alerts for the Mail and Messages app when the screen is locked. Start with making sure "Sounds" is enabled for those apps: Use notifications on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.

If you continue to have issues, make sure your iPhone is up-to-date: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

To confirm, you're getting sound from the Mail app? Is the Messages app now getting alerts as well? If not, we suggest toggling the Sounds option off and the toggling it back on.

For each app, go to Settings > Notifications > app name > turn off Allow Notifications. Afterward, turn it back on. Let us know if this helps.
