Questions for Apple Support - Faulty iPhone XR

I am posting my questions and concerns here as Apple India support does not want that customer should keep the track of communication and ask difficult questions.

 

I have purchased my iPhone XR on 23/05/2019 from Maple store Ghatkopar (R-City Mall). PFA receipt for reference.

 

On the evening of 5th October 2021, after completing a regular official call, the phone got turned off automatically and not turned on after that.

 

I tried all the troubleshooting steps, such as keeping the phone on charging, turning on in DLF mode but nothing worked.

 

After that I booked the appointment with the Apple authorized service center at the following address.

 

Date: 12th October 2021

Time: 10:40 AM

 

They checked the phone and conveyed that the phone's logical board is dead, and 42000 rupees is the repair cost. When I asked the reason for it, they said that it’s an electronic part. There is no specific reason for such failures. 

 

I tried speaking with customer care (Call) after that but according to them the service center's resolution is the final resolution, and they were not ready to entertain further.

 

I am very much disappointed as Apple is not providing proper justification for such failures. How the one moment the phone was working fine and suddenly out of nowhere it turned off and not turning on??

 

Why should the customer pay 42000 rupees for the manufacturing or quality fault in the phone?

 

As there is no physical or water damage to the phone and the same has been confirmed by the service center, how and why did the phone's logical board become dead??

 

I have always used the original charger to charge the phone, in fact I purchased the original charger last year when the out of the box charger broke. PFA receipt of the same for reference.

 

I have been using the iPhone 4s and 6s for a long time and both phones are still working fine. Then how did this iphone's logical board break in such a small span of time??

 

Above all no one, nor apple support or apple customer care is providing logical justification to it. Just one sentence from Apple: either pay 42000 for repairing it or throw the phone in the dustbin.

 

It is very much disappointing to see the brand for which we pay a premium for their quality of the product is leaving customers high and dry.

 

Please understand Apple phones are not cheap phones to buy, I have paid EMIs for six months from my hard-earned money and if something like this happens where you have not made any mistake and still you have to pay for it, it’s a worst feeling.

 

I expect only one thing, that my phone should get repaired or replaced without any charge even if it is out of warranty as it’s a product that is faulty and not the customer’s fault.

Use the Get Support button at the top of this page and contact Apple. Again, we are ALL users on this user to user only forum. We don't work for Apple. I cannot, nor should I have to prove anything to you. I don't work for Apple. You can write a book and post all the photos you want, but that isn't going to get you more support here. Sorry.


Ps: Showing the photo of the outside of your iPhone proves nothing. The Logic Board is an internal part and if it has gone bad, the exterior of your phone won't look different. Just like the exterior of your TV or Automobile won't be altered on the exterior if a part inside it goes bad.

CrzyBoy777: They don't have a channel where written communication is used as a history. They don't want people to make their point or argue over it. Share the proofs that phone is faulty. I tried explaining over telephonic conversation and on chat, they don't listen or respond. above all we don't really know that the person who is claiming senior is really a senior guy and has any authority which really helps you to build your case. Another thing you don't have written proof of anything for the communication between customer care and you. they don't share email address, you can't put your comments on the case. In india customer care is use less, you can just say its a customer care who doesn't really care about customer at all. they just don't want to answer real questions, they want to suppress your voice. they have systematically created a fortress around them so that no one can claim anything.

You are not addressing main issue here. just wondering around. Now Listen with your open ears. I am here because apple support doesn't listen. They have constructed fortress around them where you cannot do much. They don't have transparency for customer queries. They don't want to allow users to escalate and keep the track of communication. every time the case is assign to new person, where you have to repeat the same thing again and again. They don't loop you in the mail, they don't allow customer to comment on cases they have raised. You cannot get in touch with same person whom you have Spoke or chat last time. I don't want your advise where to click for support. rather than find a way if you can where I can escalate matter. this is an official community forum where we should help each other to raise the voice if in justice is happening. But your intentions are otherwise. I will keep this fight on.

My reply: Thanks for your great logic of comparing phone with automobile. do you read your own comments?? read that you will get the answer why I posted images. Also read my initial post, your every question and statement is already answered.

I feel you are trying to demotivate me from your first comment itself. First you don't try to see the problem and started making conclusions, secondly you are again and again saying same thing "Since Apple doesn't read or participate in this user to user only forum". Your all comments are from "APPLE SIDE". I don't feel I am not speaking with customer care support here. ha ha ha

Sorry, but if you thought you were writing Apple on this forum, you are NOT. This is a user to user only forum and we users don't work for Apple. We cannot in any way help you.


You need to elevate your concerns with Apple India, which this is absolutely not.


I will add however, that even in the US if a phone's logic board was determined to have failed after the phone was out of warranty, Apple would not summarily replace it. Things break. It's unfortunate, but once out of Apple's inventory, there is no telling what or how a user's phone is handled. It could have been dropped causing internal harm. Any number of things can happen.

My reply: The question is how?? They have smartly blocked Indian customers from escalating issues to higher authorities. Moreover, no issue history is transparent to customer as they have only telephonic or chat support where they don't loop customers in the communication. If they are so clean then why they don't have email support like rest of the world has?? isn't it that simple.

My reply: Simple answer to it. Prove this to customer. By simply saying logic board was gone it doesn't help at all. Above all apple knows for its quality and that why we pay premium for it. how could a phones became dead without any physical and water damage?? PFA photos for my phone for your satisfaction.
