Questions for Apple Support - Faulty iPhone XR
I am posting my questions and concerns here as Apple India support does not want that customer should keep the track of communication and ask difficult questions.
I have purchased my iPhone XR on 23/05/2019 from Maple store Ghatkopar (R-City Mall). PFA receipt for reference.
On the evening of 5th October 2021, after completing a regular official call, the phone got turned off automatically and not turned on after that.
I tried all the troubleshooting steps, such as keeping the phone on charging, turning on in DLF mode but nothing worked.
After that I booked the appointment with the Apple authorized service center at the following address.
Date: 12th October 2021
Time: 10:40 AM
They checked the phone and conveyed that the phone's logical board is dead, and 42000 rupees is the repair cost. When I asked the reason for it, they said that it’s an electronic part. There is no specific reason for such failures.
I tried speaking with customer care (Call) after that but according to them the service center's resolution is the final resolution, and they were not ready to entertain further.
I am very much disappointed as Apple is not providing proper justification for such failures. How the one moment the phone was working fine and suddenly out of nowhere it turned off and not turning on??
Why should the customer pay 42000 rupees for the manufacturing or quality fault in the phone?
As there is no physical or water damage to the phone and the same has been confirmed by the service center, how and why did the phone's logical board become dead??
I have always used the original charger to charge the phone, in fact I purchased the original charger last year when the out of the box charger broke. PFA receipt of the same for reference.
I have been using the iPhone 4s and 6s for a long time and both phones are still working fine. Then how did this iphone's logical board break in such a small span of time??
Above all no one, nor apple support or apple customer care is providing logical justification to it. Just one sentence from Apple: either pay 42000 for repairing it or throw the phone in the dustbin.
It is very much disappointing to see the brand for which we pay a premium for their quality of the product is leaving customers high and dry.
Please understand Apple phones are not cheap phones to buy, I have paid EMIs for six months from my hard-earned money and if something like this happens where you have not made any mistake and still you have to pay for it, it’s a worst feeling.
I expect only one thing, that my phone should get repaired or replaced without any charge even if it is out of warranty as it’s a product that is faulty and not the customer’s fault.
