someone else is using my email address.
This just shows how poorly Apple operates. It seems like someone else was able to create an apple id using my email address (first question, why weren't they asked to verify the email address). I do not know when the other person created the account. I am new to Apple products, so during initial registration was surprised that I could not use my email address.
So anyway, I reset the password. All cool... until I am asked the answer to security questions. Since I do not know the answers, I select the option, reset security questions. But then I reach an endless loop with a message"
"Cannot Reset Security Questions We don’t have sufficient information to reset your security questions."
I contacted support three times, each time the rep has a "syntax error, can't operate as instructed" style reaction. They do not know how to assist me. I was told wait for a few months, the system would reset itself. It's been a year, we are still at square one.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
