Problems with gmail since iOS 15 upgrade

Since upgrading to iOS 15 and also changing my phone to iPhone 13 pro I am having constant issues with gmail through the mail app. It either doesn’t fetch my emails or comes up with an error saying the details entered are incorrect or that the server is not responding. I have deleted and re-added my account multiple times and have deleted the mail app and reinstalled. Also most of my folders that have mails in them are empty and I have to do a manual refresh for them to appear. This all worked fine before the upgrade

Apple phone support put the blame on google and told me is was there problem for not updating to apples new software....

So google is not easy to call as there phone number doesnt support gmail questions...... But did shout out to the gmail community forum, awaiting responses.....btw i just returned an iphone pro 13 for screen issues and this is another

iohone 13 pro running same OS the first one did not have this issue....... Which i told apple apple support and she cut me very short and said thankyou good bye.....

I have an iPhone 11 Pro running iOS 15.2.


On New Year’s Eve my Google Nest Protect Smoke detectors successfully completed their monthly sound check.


When I launched the Nest app to clear the notification, I was prompted to sign in to my Google account. Yes, you guessed it, I am unable to log in.


Can type my email address, but the NEXT button on the sign in page does not respond. The colour changes (indicating it has recognised being pressed) but does not move on the next page where I can enter my password.


Without the app, I am not alerted of smoke, fire or carbon monoxide when away from home.


I tried resetting my network settings as suggested previously and am able to log in to Google apps on my PC and iPad.


Now that we have all become more dependent on the internet, not being alerted to a potentially life-threatening event at home when I am away put my family at risk.


Whatever the problem is, and whomever is to blame, I pray Apple or Google becomes the bigger “person” and fixes the problem, or someone can be seriously hurt.

Everything was fine until 15.3.1 - then suddenly everything stopped with all my gmail accounts; can neither send (everything shows in the Gmail sent box but never arrived) or receive (after a few hours I get a message saying the email couldn’t be delivered).


I’ve tried all the tips on here, but nothing works. As I only have Apple devices (iPhone, iPad and MacBook) the problems persist and even using Chrome/browser doesn’t make any difference. I just get messages saying the App I am using to access Google is “unsafe”.


So frustrating.
