Macro mode on video not working

I’m having an issue with macro mode not working on video on the iPhone 13 Pro. I can’t attach any videos or pictures because the files are too large. Macro mode works just fine with pictures, but suddenly stopped working for me when I take videos. I just got this phone a week ago. It’s been in a case with a screen protector so there’s been no damage to it. I’ve tried restarting it multiple times, backing up my info to iCloud, and manually focusing it. It has nothing to do with the lighting conditions either. This wasn’t a problem for me when I first bought it, can anyone help me please? Thanks in advance

Hi, i have the same problem with my iphone 13 pro. I have to go to the settings>camera>video recording and change from 4k 60 to 1080p 60, then restart camera app. This works for me, but: changing same setting from in the camera app not working, macro in 4k too.

We wouldn't recommend the beta to troubleshoot this issue. However, if you'd like to participate in the beta program you definitely can. Macro mode uses the widest of your 3 lenses. If you switch over to the wide will taking a video are you able to use the feature properly? If not, you can reach out for additional support here: Get Support

Hello,

I’ve tried changing it from 1080p or 4K with varying fps and it doesn’t change anything. It’s not switching over to the wide angle lens, it’s when I use the main camera lens and it only does it when I’m taking a video. Macro mode works just fine for photos. My iPhone is at 15.0.2, should i download the beta version of 15.1?

That is correct, it still doesn’t work if I switch it. I’ve reached out to Apple customer support 3 times and haven’t had any help, even with screen sharing. I’ve even went as far as returning the phone and getting an exchange with a new one of the same kind, and still somehow run into the same problem. Maybe it’s the software? My IOS is up to date, and I feel like other people would have this problem if it were the software. I’m not exactly sure what to do this point, I’m just frustrated because it worked when I got it, and now I don’t even have the option to use that feature anymore.

We see that you're having issue Macro Mode videos on your iPhone. Is your camera switching over to the Ultra-Wide angle lens? If you switch over to it manually does Macro Mode work? If you change video resolutions from 4k to 1080p or vice versa, do your results change? Also, is your iPhone running the latest iOS version? We look forward to hearing back from you.
