My MacBook Pro 16’’ i9 has a broken screen so I use it with an external monitor. With Monterey coming up next week, I’m dreading the installation process – I sometimes get stuck in recovery mode because it doesn’t appear correctly on the external monitor. So I’m looking for some advice for a smooth upgrade. Anyone familiar with the situation? Thanks in advance guys.

I think you will need to wait a week *after* it drops and ask the question again. Anyone who knows is still under NDA. Frankly, I would wait a month or so. And keep an eye on this board, you will quickly see if there are issues. But it is like the VAERS database, seeing problems here does not mean that they are widespread or that you should expect the same issues.
You are absolutely right, and I should wait a few weeks before installing Monterey. I was just looking for some insight from someone who went though the same ordeal when moving to Big Sur for example.
