iPhone 13 pro voice cuts and the other person can't hear me

I have an issue where my iphone 13 pro voice cuts out on speakerphone calls, not for me, but for the person on the other phone. Anyone else having this happen? The speaker grilles are clear.

Hello everyone.

i just want to share the solution i figured out which greatly helped me, hopefully it’ll be a big help to everybody struggling with the speaker problem; being not heard by the other party when using the speaker for calls.

during calls, slide down the top of your screen to open Control Centre. You will see the a setting “Mic Mode”, i saw in my setting that its “Voice Isolation” i turned it to wide spectrum or standard. And it immediately worked! Hopefully it will work. I have attached a photo of what im referring to.

cheers

I'm having the same exact problem. 13 Pro and people complain when I'm talking at the same time as them that my voice cuts out when I'm on speaker at home. This is in phone conversations and on apps like Clubhouse that use the speaker feature. It's not an issue with headphones, only speaker phone, but I can't wear my airpods all day and this shouldn't be a problem with a brand new phone. Full Bars but my phone keeps going to LTE. AT&T replaced my SIM Card and Apple replaced my phone but it's still the same problem. Repeated calls with AT&T where they have me reset my networks and still nothing works. This is obviously a widespread problem with this particular phone. I hope they fix it soon.

I spoke to Apple about this yesterday and referred the supervisor to this forum. It might be something to do with the fact that for some reason iPhone 13 pros don't have a toggle in settings for noise cancellation so he's speaking to the engineers to having it included in the next iOS update as well as getting this issue resolved which is hopefully firmware and not hardware. I've been using headphones or airpods as a temporary measure.

I also have had this issue. I've had this phone since purchase over 2 months ago. I presume it has some software issue with the noise-cancellation. I have not found a work around, as there is no option to turn off the noise cancellation anymore in control center. I am constantly using my phone and this is ALWAYS an issue when it is on speakerphone. The other person can't hear me and my voice is muffled/every other word cuts out.

I have the exact same issue. it is unbelievable that Apple could release a device/ software update with this major bug. I can’t be wearing my headphones every time I am on a video call.

Apple,

fix the stupid issue. Adding fancy options (voice isolation, yada yada) to the microphone setting is not really innovating, you just ruined the basic microphone functionality. “Noise Cancellation” is a joke on iPhone13!!!!

I have been having the same issue on all calls, not just on speakerphone, on my brand new iPhone 13 Pro since I purchased it in September. I've had multiple chats with the Care team at my wireless provider, Visible, and also with Apple Care. Finally went to an Apple store and they replaced the body of my phone (using the original screen from the phone I purchased, which is apparently something they do to save on screen replacement costs), and the problem continues. During voice calls, the people I talk to say that my voice breaks up and they can only hear every few syllables). Super frustrating. Back to Apple Care for more troubleshooting. I suspect it's a radio problem in this model, but have yet to hear Apple say as much.
