iPhone 13 pro voice cuts and the other person can't hear me

I have an issue where my iphone 13 pro voice cuts out on speakerphone calls, not for me, but for the person on the other phone. Anyone else having this happen? The speaker grilles are clear.

Hello everyone.

i just want to share the solution i figured out which greatly helped me, hopefully it’ll be a big help to everybody struggling with the speaker problem; being not heard by the other party when using the speaker for calls.

during calls, slide down the top of your screen to open Control Centre. You will see the a setting “Mic Mode”, i saw in my setting that its “Voice Isolation” i turned it to wide spectrum or standard. And it immediately worked! Hopefully it will work. I have attached a photo of what im referring to.

cheers

I was on a follow-up call with Apple support and we removed the phone case and that seemed to have fixed the problem (we think) which also seems to be a solution that some have had in this forum. It turns out that the two cases I ordered for this phone both sorta cover the microphones that are on either side of the lightning connector. Removing the case seems to have made the microphone very clear and not cut up. I will be ordering a different case to see what happens but I am cautiously optimistic. So my question to everyone else having this problem: does your phone case cover your microphone dots at the bottom of your phone? Perhaps it's not an Apple problem at all but a case problem.

I have the same issue.

Apple believes their tool more than their customers!!

Contacted online customer support, they ran their diagnostics tool and found no problem, asked me to come directly to apple store gor service.

Went to store for repair, they did run same diagnostics and no issues found. I was abl to reproduce the problem there itself ( without case or screen guard), but they were not even ready for demo.

Contacted customer support again, he accepted the issue(said he added the notes as he too observed it) and asked me to ship my phone to factory repair center in california, within 4 hours of receiving my device, they updated as we are not able to duplicate the issue and shipping back the device.

I believe either they dont have any skilled tecnicians to reproduce a simple issue or they dont want to address this issue.

In any case, i have lost my money to Apple.

Brand new phone only a week old and I’m having the same issue. It does not matter where I am at who I am talking to but when I have it on speakerphone they say I am cutting out. I have been in both Minnesota and Florida and it’s the same issue. What do I need to do to get this fixed because I use speakerphone the majority of the time. This is ridiculous for a $1500 phone. Thank you

When they tell us to mail our phone somewhere for repairs they ought to know we can't take care of business without a phone so they should first overnight a temporary phone to us so we can continue to do what we need to do and the cost should be covered in the fee we pay every month for the very reason of fixing or replacing our phone when needed.

I have the same issue regarding the audio on FaceTime calls. I can see the person’s lips on the other end moving but the audio isn’t picking up what they’re saying. I’ve noticed that this only happens when I FaceTime other iPhone 13 users though. I’ve FaceTimed people with iPhone 12’s and below and it usually works most of the time. I’m guessing it’s an isolated issue with the iPhone 13 and 13 Pro Max.

Hopefully Apple releases a software update to address this because I FaceTime family and friends multiple times a day.

I even tried emailing Tim Cook about the issue.

Temporary Fix:

I also have this same problem, but only when using FaceTime on a 13 Pro Max. Until Apple can get this fixed because it is a FaceTime software issue, this is a quick fix. When in a FaceTime call, pull down on the screen and at the top you will see microphone options. Switch between the various modes and then choose back to the “Standard” mode. That will eliminate the audio from cutting in and out for the person needing to hear what you are saying. I am confident that Apple can get this issue resolved with a software update.

Same issue. For me it happens on phone calls on speakerphone. Other person complains I'm cutting out. Interestingly, the speakerphone seems to work ok for messenger calls. Did an Apple chat earlier today. They had me hit the up and down volume then press and hold the power button to restart. I'm not sure if it worked yet, I'm not very hopeful though. I'll update y'all later.
