iPhone 13 pro voice cuts and the other person can't hear me

I have an issue where my iphone 13 pro voice cuts out on speakerphone calls, not for me, but for the person on the other phone. Anyone else having this happen? The speaker grilles are clear.

Hello everyone.

i just want to share the solution i figured out which greatly helped me, hopefully it’ll be a big help to everybody struggling with the speaker problem; being not heard by the other party when using the speaker for calls.

during calls, slide down the top of your screen to open Control Centre. You will see the a setting “Mic Mode”, i saw in my setting that its “Voice Isolation” i turned it to wide spectrum or standard. And it immediately worked! Hopefully it will work. I have attached a photo of what im referring to.

cheers

I BROKE THE CODE!!! At least for me. I finally realized that the "waterproof" case I bought from Amazon covers all the microphone holes so that no one on the other end can hear you except a very muffled voice from you. I took it off, called a friend, problem solved! I tried every suggestion made in this thread before figuring this out. Check your case and see if it's covering your 3 microphone holes. Good luck!

I bought two iPhone 13 pro Max one for me and the second for my wife. Mine is working fine but my wife’s phone has the same problem. The Voice cuts out wether on speakerphone or not. I took the phone to apple store/Genius Bar and they said that I need to change the SIM card and it would be event better if I can switch to eSIM . I did switch to eSIM and guess what? It didn’t fix the problem. I went to apple store again and they ran Hardware Diagnostic this time and they said there is nothing wrong with the hardware! After arguing with them for an hour , they offered to repair the phone and not replace it. I don’t know if should accept their offer or not because it has been only 4 weeks since I got phone! Most likely I am going to file a claim against apple because this unacceptable and apple cannot treat us like that and steal our hard earned money with their crab phones!

i am so angry and frustrated!

I have the same issues. I went to the Genius Bar twice and they gave me the same lines as everyone posted above. I went to Verizon to reset the network and a new SIM card. I got a new phone and guess what, the problem is still there. I am sorry I bought this phone. What bothers me is that if you have AppleCare and they replace your phone, that is held against you. Since I used one of my replacement options, I have one left. They sold us a lemon and they should fix it period!!

My experience and I had the same thoughts too! Only my phone has gotten worse since the update and now people in the other end are cutting out on me too! Unbelievable. My son tried to talk me into a Google Pixel as he was getting a new phone at the same time too. His Google Pixel is so so so much better than my iPhone 13 Pro. If Apple does not get this fixed this week, I am going to tell Verizon they need to get me a different phone even if it means I go to an Android.

I have had this issue since getting this new iPhone 13 Pro Max about a month back. I have invested enough time with Apple and AT&T support with no luck. They even asked me to reset the phone. Finally I just converted my SIM to eSIM on my phone and took out the physical SIM from my phone and I have tested making FaceTime calls to family using WiFi as well as Data. No voice cuts anymore. Try it and see if it fixes your issue as well.

I had earlier today used Beats headset while making FaceTime calls. That also fixed the voice cuts.

Early on I went to ATT and changed to a physical SIM from the e-SIM. No change. Case or no case, no change. Replaced the phone, no change. Reset the phone completely, no change. Folks, this is happening to many, many users across all carriers and locations. Apple needs to announce their fix or potential fix with a time line. Be sure to write your issues in the Apple Feedback site, that goes directly to Apple. Very unhappy and disappointed in what used to be a responsive and reliable product (and company).

I'm using my iPhone 13 Pro Max with Ghostek nautical waterproof iPhone 13 pro max case. I'm having the same issue meaning voice cuts and the receiver can't hear me. My phone was tested by the mobile Service provider and the Apple support including the Apple in-store Techs. They ruled out there is no issue with the phone and requested to change to a new SIM too. Replacing to a new SIM card did not resolve the issue. The issue was resolved only after I removed the above waterproof case.

I noted this same issue on iPhone 13 Pro Max generally with Waterproof cases.
