bluetooth car not loading apple music playlists

I have a new 2022 mini cooper (does not have apple carplay). When I play a music playlist the songs don't load and I can't skip songs. Since the list doesn't load it only plays one song and then stops. I have deleted and re downloaded the music app, I have restarted my phone, and I have reset system settings on my phone. If I plug in or bluetooth a different phone, it works. I have an iphone 12 pro running on the 15.0.2. I'm so frustrated. Please help.
