Final Cut Pro - How to install older version

I am currently using an iMac 2011 mid with El Capitan OS - 10.11.6. I have used FCP in the past, but now when I try to open the FCP program, it tells me it's not compatible with my current OS. Unfortunately, my iMac will not work with the most current OS required by FCP, so therefore, I would have to purchase an entirely new computer, just to make this happen. My current system works great, so I'm not interested in messing around with an entirely new system. I would like to purchase an older version of FCP, but I'm not sure how to go about this. I would greatly appreciate any advice.

kind regards,

Michael

You can purchase the application with your Apple ID using a friend's mac that runs Big Sur.

Then back at your mac it will show in your purchases and you can proceed as I described.

The purchase is associated to an Apple ID, not a particular machine.

Once you purchase it, you can use it on any macs that you own and control, so the purchase will be valid if you later get a new mac.
