Why do I have to have a credit card for in app purchases I’m a minor
I bought an apple gift card and I tried to buy and in app purchase and it required me to have a credit card but I’m a minor why do I have to have a credit card

For a variety of reasons Apple will almost always require a functional payment method such as a credit or debit card be present when downloading anything from the iTunes or App Stores that isn't totally free, even if the item will be paid for with Apple Account balance. The only solution to satisfy this requirement is to add a valid payment method.

- If you are updating an old card and have ongoing subscriptions you may need to first add the new card and make it the primary payment method before deleting the old card.

You may need to find an adult who is willing to back your account with a credit card. This is best done through Family Sharing where the adult can then monitor charges being made to the card.
