Overdrive and iTunes issues

running windows 7, I've used over drive with the LA library to download audiobooks successfully for years.

setting up a new computer with Win 10, nothing is working

downloaded Overdrive for Windows, signed into the LA library website

not only does the library not show my "holds" and loans..

but I have downloaded an audio book several times

iTunes does not "see" it in the file, so, something wrong with the download?

it downloaded in two parts into the chapters they usually download into

I don't even know where to start trying to understand what is wrong, because nothing from the library to iTunes is doing what still works correctly on my older computer

anyone else use Overdrive and have any ideas where the problem is?

I uninstalled and reinstalled Overdrive a couple times.. no difference.

Windows, Windows 6

Hi wednesdaytgw,

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities. As we understand it, you're using the OverDrive app on PC and have been unable to access content within the app or access it in iTunes. Is that right?

Regarding Overdrive, you might check out this link to see if the steps help: How to transfer and burn audiobooks using OverDrive for Windows 8/10

For iTunes, have you been able to add and play media files from other sources? Knowing this would help to narrow the issue down: How to add items to iTunes on PC

Best wishes.

Thank you, I will read the material

new computer, have used itunes and Overdrive successfully for years on win 7

a pity starting up the new computer is such a pain

it took three tries to get the entire audio book but, it seems to be working now and I'm not sure what changed but, I will read the material... I'm starting a file of all the things that were a challenge this time for the next

like the dumb program that replaces the old excellent "snipping tool" ... scratch and sniff (snip and sketch) does not work with clipboard... well, that makes sense, right?

thank you
