iOS 15.1 Calendar app is laggy and unreliable

I just had a long chat with Apple Support and, after about 45 minutes, I was able to fix the calendar app problem on my iPad. In summary, I had to restore my iPad to its original factory configuration, which I did by connecting to a separate MAC (although it can also be done through a PC) and then I restored my iPad with previously made backup . Just tried the calendar app and it is working...

I’m now on 15.1.1 and same issue. Seems to be an issue with swiping between days. I don’t have any exchange accounts on mine, just a few Google, and iCloud and hotmail. I’ve found that force closing the app and then reopening seems to work immediately (without having to wait and wait for the app to update).

Super unreliable and a huge inconvenience. I’m mostly switched to Google Calendar now so I can follow my work schedule, but that still doesn’t show me my family iCloud calendar

Same here and it's definately a calendar app bug.

I used a widget app (cal widget) to show all my calendars in weekly view, every item is in correct place with correct title.

Hopefully Apple can get this issue fixed in the coming 15.2 realease.

I really like the iOS calendar app - I am sad that this bug exists and renders it useless for exchange users particularly. My simple workaround: I use another Calendar app like WeekCal or Fantastical - works! (Until an 15.x comes out and fixes the bug…

A workaround which seems to be working for me:

When Calendar view is screwed, go to home screen and then back to Calendar. Then the view is corrected on my device.

A workaround that works for me is to switch between Day view and Week view, then back to Day view.

I am having the same problem. I found that if I click back on the month calendar once or twice and then go back to the day, view, the calendar will correct itself, but it’s very annoying.

My workaround on iPhone an iPad is to briefly go into FLIGHT MODE; after turning flight mode off the calendar is back to normal ... for a bit.

For the time being and until Apple comes to its senses (reset? I think not) use landscape mode as suggested in the other thread.

Hi iPhone calendar problem with outlook. Go to Settings, General, Calendar, Time Zone Override and in my case switch it on and select London. | It seems to be working for me - good luck

If you're having this issue, please, report it to Apple via the Support app on your phone. This is the best way for them to see the impact and ensure they have all the right logs. Push to get the case bumped up to a Senior Advisor.

FIXED! I contacted support after trying the fixes here. This is what worked

go to your calendar

delete (yep scary)

go to app store

search “calendars”

select the App that has “productivity” under the name.

download/install

all appointments came immediately back on (Source)

I have the same issue. Calendar is freezing. I have an exchange calendar. Issue prevails in iOS 15.1 and higher. I downgraded to iOS 15.0.2 and there are no issues in that version. Please rectify this.

I found that uninstalling and reinstalling the calendar wasn’t a long term solution, but maybe yours will be better, my husband read on a post here (and he’s been doing it) was to, believe it or not, switch back and forth between dark and light modes. I’ve also downloaded the Outlook app from the app store, and I like the calendar better since it shows exactly what my appointments are in month view rather than just dots.

I tried a lot of the described action from above. None gave me a permanent solution.

So finally I installed the Outlook App from Microsoft, which works really excellent with MS Exchange (and maybe my other accounts - not checked yet)

Maybe I will switch completely to Outlook and delete the Apple Calendar App!
