iOS 15.1 Calendar app is laggy and unreliable

Same issues here! Lagging. Appointments sometimes off by a day. Huge battery drain. Guessing it's something to do with exchange account from my work email. I've logged issue with tier 2 support. Submitted examples and they acknowledge it's a known issue.

The latest update from me is that my senior apple support technician rang to update me on what the main tech team say and it was:

Apple cannot fix this, the issue lies with the Exchange server.

I have been told to speak to my company IT dept and ask them to fix it.

That is bizarre and to be honest I don't entirely buy it.

That "fix" is in the MacOS "you know what" as well as the iOS "you know what."

Again, my suggestion at the beginning of this thread (shut off Exchange sync/view) will also exhibit a workaround. So, if you are needing to view or make changes to the non-Exchange calendars, you can do that until something happens from Apple.

It’s definitely a bug. Exact same problem. Force closing and reopening the calendar app seems to reset the calendar and the correct titles then appear on the meetings for a short while before it goes haywire again.

No it’s not fixed. All day today I’ve been seeing incorrect info about upcoming meetings, missing meetings that are invisible, and so on. I’m having to also use the Microsoft and Google apps to see a real view of those two calendars instead of being able to see them on my native calendar app on the iPhone.

I did it with a one-star review on Apple‘s calendar app in the app-store:

Hi Apple, since the upgrade to 15.1 your calendar app is laggy and does not work. It is unusable for exchange-users. Hence, you block many of us using it as a business tool. The support forum has many threads on this and you don‘t react. I recommend everybody to install the Google-calendar app. This solved the problem. Your app has been deleted. Period!

This is a user-to-user forum. The Apple employees who do monitor this do so only to make sure that people adhere to the terms of use. It is not part of their job to look for and process feedback. Apple has a separate place for that:

The fact that Apple doesn't listen to complaints made here doesn't mean they don't listen.

Sorry you went to all that trouble. Your calendar will likely start begin laggy and unresponsive in another day or two. None of the "fixes" posted here keep the issue from coming back. The software has a bug and there is no permanent workaround or fix other than the bug fix we are all waiting for. I've tried the stuff folks have posted here as well and none of it seems to be permanent.

Yes I got too excited too soon - same has happened to me. I have switched on and rebooted phone and at the moment ....... it might be ok - I am getting a slight lag but within a second or 2 it is correct

Meanwhile, you may want to try another calendar app.

I just bought a new iPhone 13 and upgraded to 15.1.1 (for some reason 15.1.1 was not available in Australia for my iPhone8 and current spec iPad air). The same problem comes up on the new device out of the box even though I assume the new device doesn't have a cache.

This was not an issue before upgrading to 15.1. Upgrading to 15.1 was the only thing that changed so I assume is where the problem lies.

Apple calendar for ios is now effectively useless. Such a shame.

FWIW, the latest “release” fixes the issue. Clearly an Apple bug. I can’t say the version as they will delete my post.
