MacBook pro 2019 after monterey update the computer won’t turn on at all.

tried the usual suspects (pram, pressing command-option-r etc.) but nothing. Computer is also perfectly powered but nothing, no chime, no harddrive sound just a dead computer after the monterey update.

seems like a computer without power but it is fully powered

Problem: you need a second computer with the same or an higher operating system version.

As I didn’t have a second machine with Monterey already running, I went to the Apple Store and they revived the T2 chip. Problem solved and I hope this will also help others who faced bricked computers after the Monterey install.

Worth trying and this is what my technician did in my Apple Store and I think my laptop works like before with Big Sur but now with Monterey. I know that in another country one acquaintance was told to have new hardware and pay for a lot like some people in this thread. It’s so crazy nothing has been done to stop brick laptops and they have not instructed Apple Stores to give the least inconveniencing solution for users. If there is a hardware problem caused by this update it’s their responsibility to fix it for free.

Well for those interested I have an update on my particular issue. I don’t have a T2 chip, so revive didn’t work. Tried a new power supply, did not work. Found an iMac on eBay with a busted shell and screen. Logic board seemed to be in good working order. Bought it. It arrived yesterday. Stripped all the parts and pieces. Installed the new logic board. Plugged Catalina thumb drive and hit the power and option key. Unfortunately my keyboard was dead so it booted into windows. I can work with that, *pumps fist in the air*. Plugged keyboard in, booted into recovery. Deleted that Monterey update by formatting the the apple drive and hallelujah it’s installing. So $200 later it looks like I’m back in business. Good luck to everyone having issues and thanks for all the input.

I feel sad for all of us here but I don't think we can do much about it. I've visited multiple authorized service providers, endless emails to apple support, spoke with 4 different "apple senior advisers", raised a complaint in consumer forum. At this stage i've lost all hope of getting it repaired from apple without paying ~$900. Apple is really scamming their customers and many of them are apple loyalists who are too deep in their ecosystem.

Unless there is a program from apple to repair/exchange these devices, we've to pay out of our pocket.
