MacBook pro 2019 after monterey update the computer won’t turn on at all.
tried the usual suspects (pram, pressing command-option-r etc.) but nothing. Computer is also perfectly powered but nothing, no chime, no harddrive sound just a dead computer after the monterey update.
seems like a computer without power but it is fully powered

Problem: you need a second computer with the same or an higher operating system version.
As I didn’t have a second machine with Monterey already running, I went to the Apple Store and they revived the T2 chip. Problem solved and I hope this will also help others who faced bricked computers after the Monterey install.

it is like magic. my warranty ended a couple of days ago and now with the monterey update the mac is gone

So far I don’t see any announcements in Apple websites of this undesired outcome. My problem was solved quickly but these coming days I am sure Apple Genius Bars would be busy fixing brick laptops.
This also happened to me! Like wth we already pay a lot for these and then we update to mess up our computer!? To pay more to get it fixed!? Crazy af.
I had the same issue. Went to apple store and they asked me to pay almost 600$ for logic board replacement. They didn’t even tell about the t2 chip update
I’m having the same issue on my 2017 2.5 iMac. It’s out of warranty. I have a second Mac but it’s an air so no usb c to do the recovery. Anyone have any other suggestions?
It’s a desktop so that doesn’t work. I did disconnect the power cord. Pressed the power for about 30 sec then reconnected and same result…nothing seems to be a 21.5 in paper weight atm
