I went to calendar settings and found that sync is set to all events. Changed it to two weeks. Immediately the slowness issue got resolved.

I was almost happy: the Calendar in landscape is very responsive to touch, as it shall be.

But the contents is often rubbish with appointment coloring spanning more time or more days that what they are set for.

The appointment coloring changes when you slide the Calandar left and right. In one word: useless.

So Calendar in portrait responds terrible to touch, Calendar in landscape shows random coloring.

Same here, on my iPhone 11 Pro, Calendar super slow, takes minutes until scrollable, but still sluggish then. That app is not usable anymore actually and that's really nasty, actually working in an important long term project where have to deal a lot with invitations.

Everything was fine with Calendar till 15.0.x. Who could have known that they blow up that basic core Calendar function :-(

Apple I'm not going to reset anything on my iPhone! You screwed it, so go and fix it, and please do that fast!

Dear Wouter-58, thanks for your contribution towards solving this awful problem caused by the most recent IOS update. Unfortunately I do not fully understand the technology, I am very worried about losing my personal diary entries over a wide timespan. I use the calendar extensively and find it frustrating in its current state. Thank you for persevering with the case.

Well, that's by nature all Exchange, so corporate Exchange server, Office 365 and also outlook.com.

So, I have 2 of them running on my iPhone, since years w/o issues, Office 365 company account and also a personal outlook.com account. I would like to repeat myself, Apple go and fix that, and please fast, you screwed it.

I would be curious if Google Mail users are facing that issue, too, as Google used Exchange servers underneath the hood in the past. I'm actually not up to date, if they changed that already sometimes in the past ...

IOS 15.1 UPDATE has rendered my calendar/diary almost unusable on my iPhone X. It is impossibly slow and often stops when trying to use the LIST VIEW. I am in fear of losing all of my calendar entries!

Also my iPad Pro (12.9) has downloaded the update but will not install it! I have tried to delete the update from the ipad storage page but this request refuses to delete it.

Come on APPLE it’s about time you put this awful version of IOS 15 update mess right.

I’ve been to the “genius” bar three times and they have no clue on what’s going on. The first time they replaced my iPhone 12 mini. The second time they told me to erase my phone and the third time I was told literally that “it is a little laggy but it still works.” I told the “genius” that it was an answer worthy of Microsoft. I’ve seen this issue posted all over the web, so now I know that it is not my issue. I hope they fix this as it is very annoying for people who use the iPhone for work. I’ll wait for a patch but in the meantime I’m getting an android to test it.

The point about the Android is that I have never tried it. I hear how IOS is so much better, but that may be a thing of the past; besides I am now curious of how bad it is when half the world uses it. You would expect some type of support from Apple for an expensive device that’s still in warranty. This lagging issue is in several threads around the Apple Forum and the web.

From my point of view I can deny any theory, sync period might the cause.

My default setting is ever since 2 weeks and I always just sync'd the calendar from one business Exchange account, so in words one calendar ever since only, not more. No change on that since roughly 12/13 years now.

What ever it is, it is not usable anymore after update to iOS 15.1, Apple has to fix that. Putting hands on a crystal ball just confuses everybody ...

There was a post in REDDIT about some sort of virus. I tried to go back to post the link here but I could not find it. Don’t know if it was deleted. If someone finds it, please share it. It seems our data is compromised. It also mentioned that it also affects many other apps like Chome for IOS. I don’t know if it is true, as I tried to go back to it and could not find it. I asked our IT guy and he was not aware.

I have the same issue across all of my iOS devices and on macOS. The issue started not right after the software update but just recently. Basically, I'm not able to use the calendar app at all. When I open it on macOS it starts consuming 100% of CPU until I force quit it. On iOS devices, it constantly freezes and crashes.

I didn't try resetting accounts, deleting them, etc. as I don't see it as a part of the solution.
