Screen saver broken in Monterey
When selecting the Photos library or a folder of photos, they do not render. Have tried various options (e.g., Classic, Ken Burns, etc.). No luck.

I wanted to edit this to add to it, but can't do that, so here we go. I did notice on the iMac that if I pick any other screen saver, Monterey, Hello etc. they work, it is just with photos that they do not work.
Can confirm. It's working as expected now with 12.1 installed.
The photo display screensaver options do not, in fact, display any jpeg png or jpg.

Did you update to Monterey 12.1? Seems to be working for others.
Like your screen name.
Working fine for me and many others. But I see there are more than one that its not working for - so maybe they should post their exact specs and see if its isolated issue for those parameters?
All working for me as well. After this last update I can use the Photos Library or a folder successfully. I’ve tried multiple file formats as well, in the folder, and all work.
I downloaded the 12.1 Monterey update this morning, and now my floating photo screen saver is back! Yeah!!! I am thrilled!!!
The "fix" to 12.1 FIXED my screen saver. Yay! Happy again.
Screen saver is fixed indeed. However, this issue was known to Apple prior to release.
Agreed, only partly fixed. Appears to only use a folder called PHOTOS. Can not select another.
[sorry may have been mistaken]
Upgraded to 12.1. Works now. Good job community.
Same with me!
This is what I was seeing before I upgraded to 12.1.
I spoke too soon. Half the time, I still get Lovecraft green on my monitors. So the problem still plagues me. I guess the folder renaming was no help after all.
Updating to Monterey 12.1 fixes this issue.
